Are you Dead or Alive?

Sun Apr 17, 2022

These are my thoughts after experiencing our beautiful Easter service in 2022.

This question shouldn't be asked lightly...one of the most holy days in the Christian calendar is Easter, which we in the U.S. celebrated today, and many people go to church at least on Christmas and Easter if they don't regularly attend.

"He is risen!"
"He has conquered death and he is now alive!"

No other religion has this claim and so we are here to celebrate the unique and glorious event of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. We believe that Jesus came to earth as a baby (see the Christmas post for more on this :) and then lived 33 years on earth spreading his peaceful message.

Many listened - his disciples and thousands of others - but some thought he was not the Messiah (some Jews and Romans) - and they crucified him on a cross, thinking that would end his earthly claims...

But the amazing thing is - he didn't stay there!
So he was dead and then he was alive!

Even our time (BC to AD) announces that the death and resurrection of Jesus is an event to remember...

~~~~~~~~~~
So let's talk about YOU - do YOU ever feel this way?
Do you ever wonder if you are waking up feeling dead, or less than alive? with no hope or purpose?
Maybe you have been struggling to reconcile what life is all about, or have been through atrocities or unpleasant life events, or even are in a pattern of unhealthy habits, and can't seem to see the light outside of this "grave" you are in?
Just remember - there IS light - there is peace - outside of yourself and your own thoughts.
You can remember Jesus' sacrifice and how he died for us and rose again to sit with the Father in heaven!
We believe the name of Jesus is so powerful, it stops the devil in his tracks. So don't listen to him - listen to the One who loves you so much, He made a way for us!
No matter what religion you are....or how you feel at this moment...
You ARE alive and well. Keep up hope!
